Product Description
The submerged-arc electric melter is core melting equipment for continuous rock wool production lines It melts basalt, diabase, mineral slag and recycled rock wool waste by submerged graphite electrodes, delivering stable homogeneous molten mineral liquid for high-quality fiber formation. Rated continuous throughput reaches 6 tons of molten raw material per hour, matching medium-to-large-scale rock wool production facilities with strict environmental emission limits.
Instead of traditional cupola furnaces, the electric furnace relies on three-phase AC submerged arc heating. Graphite electrodes immerse directly into the molten pool to generate high-temperature electric arcs, heating the melt to 1,500–1,600°C for full vitrification of mineral batches. Raw materials are continuously charged from the top feeding hopper, forming a cold charge blanket on the melt surface to reduce heat loss. Homogenized molten rock flows steadily out of the water-cooled siphon spout to four-wheel centrifugal fiberizer for rock wool fiber production.
